The name Keukenhof is derived from the Keukenhof castle that is located on the estate and of which the former castle gardens still form the basis for the Keukenhof flower park. In 1950 it was decided to hold an exhibition in order to put the Dutch flower bulbs in the spotlight. Now Keukenhof has grown into a flower show with more than 7 million flowering spring flowers such as crocuses, daffodils, hyacinths, lilies and 800 different varieties of tulips. Will you be in Holland during spring? Then you should definitely not miss the colourful Keukenhof!
